The company was established as a Chinese-Italian joint venture named Zhenjiang Hongda Commodity Co., Ltd.

Hongda, a Chinese-American joint venture, was established. In the same year, Zhonglian Import and Export Company was founded and moved to 155 Zhenrong Road.

The company moved into a new factory covering over 10,000 square meters at 1 Yi’an Road, Dantu High-Tech Park.

Hongda and Zhonglian Import and Export were subjected to anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations by the U.S. Department of Commerce and were listed as mandatory respondents.

The company underwent restructuring, transformation, and upgrading, re-strategizing to address the crisis.
